Department of Defense / Department of War
All in one versatile solution to meet the needs of the military – from triage and virtual health, to warrior training and continuous patient monitoring in the field.
The U.S. military has over 2 million members¹ across active duty and the reserves. Stationed on bases and carriers all over the globe, they all have different work objectives and support requirements. Sempulse technology is positioned to meet the many different needs of our servicemen and women through a highly versatile platform– applicable on the battlefield, in the field or garrison clinic setting, warfighter training, and telemedicine.
Continuous Patient Monitoring
Sempulse provides a constant stream of clinically accurate vital signs data on patients and service members. This makes it easier for the medical personnel to cut through the distractions and focus on providing medical care to patients. Also applicable on the battlefield, constant monitoring helps leaders to become more informed about their teams, cognizant of who is struggling physically and who has sustained injuries, increasing survivability and mission performance across the board.
Optimized Training Methods
This constant stream of physiological data is a key enhancement of training methods across the military, which leads to training regimes that seek to optimize performance and recovery. Physiological data enables trainers to be more aware of how to achieve peak performance during training and identify who needs rest and who could benefit from increased pace or training intensity. Dehydration, overheating, and internal injuries all can be quickly identified in trainees making training universally safer for all warrior athletes.
Telehealth
Over 9 million veterans receive medical services each year from the V.A. and over 1 million telehealth episodes were recorded through the V.A. in the 2018 fiscal year. With a large patient base and a growing telemedicine need, Sempulse technology is capable of bringing clinical grade medical tools to the home environment. This is ideal for the V.A. which has been expanding telemedicine operations in order to deliver treatment to rural, elderly, and otherwise under-served communities. Telemedicine improves care being received by warfighters in the field and in isolated base environments, bringing a capability to the field where equipment and resources are limited.
