Sempulse® Showcases Halo™ Platform Vital Signs Monitoring System at Austin4America Conference During SXSW 2025
Austin, TX – March 13, 2025 – Sempulse, a leader in non-invasive vital sign monitoring technology, proudly participated in the Austin for America (A4A) exhibition held from March 10 to 15, 2025, coinciding with the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals in Austin, TX. Notably, Sempulse was the sole medical device startup featured at the exhibition center with a production-ready device. Mike Boyle, Chief Operating Officer of Sempulse, was present onsite to engage with attendees and demonstrate the company’s FDA-cleared Halo Vital Signs Monitoring System.
Austin4America was established to address the challenges faced by startups, particularly in navigating complex regulatory frameworks and competing against established interests. The two-day event convened pioneers shaping America’s future, focusing on defense innovation, resilience, human performance, and lasting impact. A4A is an annual event that runs parallel to SXSW, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders to showcase advancements across various industries. Since its inception, A4A has provided a platform for emerging technologies and startups to gain exposure during the globally recognized SXSW Festival.
Sempulse’s flagship product, the Halo device, is a non-invasive sensor that attaches behind the ear to continuously monitor vital signs such as SpO2, pulse rate, respiratory rate, core body temperature, and skin temperature. Designed for use in both civilian and military settings, the Halo device aims to enhance patient monitoring and improve outcomes in critical situations.
The conference’s agenda included discussions on the importance of integrating defense into innovation and strategies for startups to overcome industry challenges. Several speakers took the stage wearing Sempulse Halo devices, demonstrating the device’s seamless integration into daily activities and its potential to revolutionize health monitoring. Attendees had the opportunity to experience live demonstrations and learn about the technology’s applications directly from Mike Boyle and the Sempulse team.
“Participating in Austin for America during SXSW has been an incredible opportunity for Sempulse,” said Mike Boyle, COO of Sempulse. ” The positive feedback we’ve received reinforces our commitment to advancing healthcare technology for the warfighter.”
Sempulse’s involvement in A4A underscores the company’s dedication to innovation and its mission to provide reliable, real-time health data to improve patient care on and off of the battlefield. The exposure at this prestigious event aligns with Sempulse’s goal to collaborate with industry leaders and healthcare professionals to bring cutting-edge solutions to market.
